What is AI spatial planning for a product range?
By Anthony Wei, Founder & CEO

Planning on the real plan, not a stock room
AI spatial planning lays out a real project on its real plan, using only your own products and rules. From an address, a floor plan, a photo or measurements from site, the AI models the space in 3D and places every module, cabinet, panel or fixture the way a designer would: sized to the real dimensions, with every option checked against your rules. It hands back a few options that fit, a specification shortlist and drawings, for your designers and technical team to review before anything is ordered.
Take a wardrobe. Set the width and depth of the room, and the AI assembles it from your standard panels and modules, sized to the walls. Make the room longer, and one run turns into an L. Every size gets a complete plan, ready for your team to check. The same logic plans kitchens, bathrooms, fit-outs and whole homes.
Why it changes the sale
For made-to-measure products, the sale stalls between the first idea and a plan that fits. A designer draws a layout, the customer changes their mind, and the layout is drawn again. Worse, a design can look right and still be one the factory can’t make: a cabinet that doesn’t come in that width, a clearance that doesn’t work, a combination your rules don’t allow.
AI spatial planning closes that gap. Every layout is built from parts you actually make, to dimensions that actually fit, so the design the customer approves is one your factory and your installers can deliver. A change is a new layout in moments, not another round of drawing, and your designers spend their time on judgement instead of redrawing.
How it works
- Start from the project. An address, a floor plan, a photo or a tape measure, with your catalogue and product rules. From an address, it brings together the site information and planning controls that apply, with their sources.
- Lay it out with your products. The AI models the space in 3D and places your range like a designer would: every module, cabinet, panel or fixture sized to the real dimensions, every option checked against your rules, and room types repeated across a project with the exceptions flagged.
- Offer a few right options. Not dozens: a few layouts that fit, with product combinations, moods and upgrade packages built around the project, compared side by side in 3D.
- Prepare it for review. From the same 3D model it prepares product selections, a specification shortlist, schedules, draft project documents, shop drawings and professional drawings, for your designers and technical team to approve before ordering or issue.
What a brand supplies
- Your catalogue: products, modules, sizes, finishes and hardware, with images and specifications.
- Your rules: what fits with what, the sizes and clearances that work, and what your factory can make.
- A real plan: the floor plan from a recent project, so the first test is a job you already know.
We do the rest: the AI, the build and the running of it. Our AI modelling engine builds accurate 3D models of your products from your images, drawings and specifications, included at no extra cost and yours to use elsewhere.
AI planner or room-design configurator?
A room-design configurator gives the customer, or your designer, an empty room and a catalogue, and leaves the layout to them: drag in a cabinet, resize it, check whether it fits, repeat. It knows the products, but not the plan, and every decision is made by hand.
An AI planner starts from the real plan and does the layout itself, like a designer would, using only what you make. In 3D it also does everything a configurator does: the customer or your team can change the size, finish and options of any part, checked against your rules, inside the whole plan. A configurator is a subset of it. And because the plan is a real 3D model, it goes on to drawings, schedules and, with AI quantity take-off, a bill of materials.
Who it’s for
- Kitchen, wardrobe and joinery manufacturers who want every design sold to be one the factory can make.
- Furniture suppliers who plan fit-outs from a floor plan and a brief, and need a few clear options and a schedule.
- Home builders and developers who repeat room types across many homes and want selections and upgrades planned on the real plans.
Frequently asked questions
Does it produce drawings our team can issue?
Yes. From the same 3D model it produces shop drawings and professional drawings, with schedules, plans, elevations, sections and rendered views. Your designers and project team review and approve them before anything is issued.
Who checks the site and planning information?
Planner brings site information and planning controls together with their sources for your qualified team to verify. Planning and certification decisions remain with the responsible professionals.
Can it repeat room types across many homes?
Yes. A room type is planned once and repeated across the project, and the homes that don’t fit the pattern are flagged for your team.
Does it connect to our product data?
Yes. It works from your catalogue and product rules, and can be set up to read the product data you already keep, so a change is made once and flows through. Connections to your CRM and other systems are set up to match your requirements.
