Pre-tender quantities from a builder’s tender set

From a builder’s tender drawings to a reviewable window and façade bill of quantities, every line traced to the drawing it came from.

For a commercial glazing contractor, we built a pre-tender estimating assistant that reads the tender set and prepares the bill of quantities for the estimator to review.

01

Challenge

Before a commercial project can be priced, every window, door and façade element has to be taken off the drawings, schedules and specifications, and tender deadlines leave little time to do it.

Tender drawings are rarely complete, so items that are needed but never drawn are easy to miss.

02

Solution

Reads the tender set. The assistant reads the window and door tags, schedules and elevations, and builds the quantity list type by type and elevation by elevation.

Flags what is missing. It checks the drawings against each other and flags what they imply but don’t show, from flashings to missing tags.

Traced and signed off. Every line links back to its page and tag, so the estimator reviews, adjusts and signs off instead of measuring from scratch, then exports the bill to the tools they already price in.
